I\u2019m an independent audio producer interested in using creative media to inspire a more loving and just world. My work has been featured on KALW and KPFA, and in 2017, I produced SFMOMA’s podcast\u00a0Raw Material: Season 2: Manifest,\u00a0<\/i>which focused on\u00a0art, community and social justice. I was also a 2016 AIR New Voices Scholar. I currently work in youth development and community-building as the Program Director of Expanded Learning at Oakland High School, where students teach me about life, love, community and struggle every single day. And sometimes we make fun radio.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m a neurodivergent filmmaker, podcaster, and blogger focused on disability media and culture and a 2017 AIR New Voices Scholar. I\u2019m also a transcriber, Closed Captioner, and Audio Describer, making content on any topic more accessible and available. Sarika D. Mehta<\/b><\/p>\n

After a decade of working in social service with linguistic minorities around the US, I eventually found my place in broadcast journalism. I specialize in issues concerning race, ethnicity, and intersectionality. I also was a\u00a02016 AIR New Voices Scholar.<\/span><\/p>\n

Currently, I am the host and producer of the newly-minted <\/span>Intersections Radio<\/span><\/a> \u00a0\u2013 a new independent podcast which also airs locally on <\/span>KBOO Community Radio<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>XRAY.FM<\/span><\/a>. Previously, I spent five years with the <\/span>APA Compass<\/span><\/i> collective and I used to anchor the <\/span>Evening News<\/span><\/i> on KBOO 90.7 FM.<\/span><\/p>\n

When I\u2019m not working on a great interview, I\u2019m a Sign Language Interpreter. This is an awesome and challenging gig.<\/span><\/p>\n

Alice Wong<\/strong> is a media maker, research consultant, and disability activist based in San Francisco, CA. Her areas of interest are popular culture, media, politics, disability issues, Medicaid policies and programs, storytelling, and activism. <\/span>S<\/span>he is the Founder of the <\/span>Disability Visibility Project<\/span>\u00ae<\/span>, a community partnership with <\/span>StoryCorps<\/span> and an online community dedicated to creating, amplifying, and sharing disability media and culture. <\/span><\/p>\n
